You don’t need to be engaged or married to have a romantic photo shoot done. Sometimes all you need is the important part… LOVE. Alyce and Nick are very much in love and I was lucky enough to capture their adoration for each other during a Love Shoot. I had a wonderful afternoon photographing these two frolicking in the afternoon sunshine and just enjoying spending time in each others company. Ahhh, ain’t love grand!

Before I go I want to give a huge shout out to my lovely friend Kim from Sabii Photography for coming along to play at this session. It was so fun to shoot with you.

My trip to Sydney was such a great one as not only did I get to visit my family and spend time with them, but I also got to be reacquainted with old school friends. Marianne and myself were very good friends in primary school and although we didn’t “hang out” in high school we still remained friends. Almost 17 years on, we got reconnected on Facebook, and as such Marianne asked me to come visit and get some photos of her beautiful new daughter. We were hoping she would sleep just a little but I think these photos are beautiful in all their naturalness!

*Marianne, it was so lovely to see you again, you haven’t changed a bit and I hope to see you again next time I am in Sydney.

Erin & Ryan’s Wedding | Gold Coast Wedding Photographer

Erin and Ryan were married at the gorgeous Canungra Valley Vineyards. Erin got ready with her family & bridesmaids at Carmel by the Sea at Broadbeach and making the day even more special was that Erin’s gorgeous daughter was there by her side as her flower girl. Erin’s dress was designed by Darb Bridal Couture and she looked absolutely stunning.

Erin and Ryan also chose to hold their reception at O’Reillys Canungra Valley Vineyard, which was fantastic as it was such a beautiful, beautiful location. I honestly didn’t want to leave!

A huge thanks to Kylie for 2nd shooting for me. I’m looking forward to our adventures in 2012.

Trash the Dress | Brisbane Wedding Photographer

I recently travelled to Sydney to catch up with family and friends as well as do a few shoots for some wonderful clients I have down there. One of those shoots was a trash the dress with my cousin’s son Stuart and his gorgeous bride Paula. I don’t do a lot of these but when I do get a chance to, it’s always so much fun. There’s none of the nervousness, time restraints and worries that there are on the wedding day. We’re able to just go with the flow and see where it takes us. So, on a wet day in Sydney, Paula, Stuart and I set off to Cronulla where we embraced the rain and the ocean and the wet weather. We worked with the elements and ended up with these stunning images. Although some wouldn’t believe it, it is seriously so much fun to Trash the Dress!

Jen & Jared’s E-shoot | Brisbane Engagement Photographer

As a photographer you’re always looking for the perfect combination of light, location, situation and subject. That wonderful moment where everything just comes together and what you’re left with are magical images that tell a perfect story. On this day, with Jen and Jared, I had that “perfect moment”. We met at one of my favourite locations and although I had used it many times before, for some reason it seemed different this time. The light was amazing and Jen and Jared were a dream couple. Totally in love and besotted with eachother, there was no need for me to give direction or tell them what to do. It was so obvious to anyone that saw them together, that this is true love. They were so very comfortable in eachother’s presence that photographing them together didn’t even feel like work. I can’t even begin to tell you how excited I am for Jen and Jared’s wedding day. It’s going to be amazing!

Oh and a big thank you to Polka Dot prints for helping out with some of our props. You guys are awesome!

Petra is the owner of Mooce Clothing and I was completely flattered when she asked me to do not only a commercial shoot for Mooce, but also a family shoot for herself. We spent the afternoon down at Springfield Lakes and Petra’s very cute daughter kept me amused with her gorgeous little personality. We picked flowers, did some fish watching and just had a lovely afternoon.

Sally & Paul’s Wedding | Gold Coast Wedding Photographer

You may remember this gorgeous couple from their Engagement Session earlier last year. Sally is a make up artist and I’ve worked with her many times. Over a period of time we became friends and when she told me she and Paul were getting married and asked me to shoot their wedding, well, I was over the moon! As with any wedding, we were hoping for blue skies and sunshine but it wasn’t to be. I can honestly say this is one of the wettest weddings I have ever photographed and we faced many challenges with locations and lighting. We didn’t let this worry us though, and I managed to get some absolutely beautiful images. Sometimes you just have to work with what you have and make the best of it.

Sally got ready at her mum’s house and of course, she did her own make up. I highly recommend her to all my brides and I just knew she would be looking gorgeous on her own big day. The ceremony was held at Robina Golf Course and we did the formal shoot at Emerald Lakes. Oh and I must send out a huge thank you to Adam Bolt for second shooting with me. It’s always fun working with you! I really enjoyed the challenge of shooting this very wet wedding and although I would never wish a rainy day on any of my brides, these photos are proof that a bit of rain won’t ruin your opportunity for gorgeous images.
